St. John's supports a variety of other ministries. These include: Community Support Program The aim of this program is to provide short-term assistance in a variety of ways, to any member of our local community in whatever way possible. As Christians, we want to follow Jesus’ example of compassion and concern by offering practical help to those in need. The members of Small Groups often voluntarily provide this help. We charge no fees, request no donations and do not expect you to feel obligated to us in any way.
Mission
The Great Commission: Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all Nations...
One of the values which St. John's has is to 'actively participate in the worldwide mission of the church'. We seek to express this by promoting Mission awareness in the Parish through commitment to prayer and sacrificial giving. The congregation contributes to the support of link missionaries plus some congregational members who work full time for mission organisations.
St. John's commits 15% of its general offertories and thanksgiving income to Mission and External Giving. Prayer information and Mission News is published each week in our Parish News. Currently our missionaries and organisations supported financially and/or in prayer are as follows ~
